Why Choose 6-3, and NOT 3-6-9 in an Oil Blend?*

Simply stated, 3-6-9 oil blends [organic or not] base their formulations on mainstream health advice. While consistent with contemporary nutritional advice, these formulations are inconsistent with the physiological needs of the body. The standard 3-6-9 blend typically promotes increased omega-3 supplementation [3-6-9 in a ratio of 2-1-1]. Since 3-6-9 blends emphasize stronger omega-3 supplementation, they are typically grouped together with the other “omega-3” brands as a category, including fish oil. Whether or not the 3-6-9 blend is organic is of little consequence, as the math is incorrectly derived. This is due to the increased emphasis placed on supplementation with omega-3 or omega-3 derivatives. On the other hand, YES™ Parent Essential Oils promotes an improved ratio of increased parent omega-6 supplementation with less omega-3 [6-3 in a ratio of 2-1].

Omega-6 content in the YES™ formula contains a substantial amount of Evening Primrose Oil [the highest oxygenating omega-6 oil]. However, most 3-6-9 blends contain very little evening primrose oil (EPO), since EPO typically is found at the tail end of omega-6 ingredients in 3-6-9 blends. But, in the YES™ omega blend EPO represents the most abundant concentration of omega-6 oils.

The science and research that led to the development of the YES™ 6-3 omega oil blend maintains that contemporary health recommendations that promote increased omega-3 supplementation are inconsistent with good health: We are overloading the body on omega-3. Moreover, the research maintains that we do not really get enough parent omega-6 in our diet. Hence, the YES™ formula contains more parent omega-6 than parent omega-3.

Scientific research [buried for years] shows that cholesterol is wrongfully blamed for the disease processes [including atherosclerosis] caused by defective EFAs, especially defective omega-6. Moreover, the research behind the YES™ formula finds no credibility in omega-9 supplementation. Omega-9 is a non-essential “oleic” acid that your body can either manufacture on its own or can be obtained from foods like olive oil. It is not an essential fatty acid; So why is the consumer paying hard-earned cash for non-essential [oleic] omega-9 supplementation? As you can see, there are two different views expressed by the “more 6” vs. “more 3” proponents: Two opposing physiological directions—essentially, they are polar opposites; Hence, the reason that 3-6-9 blends are very different from the YES™ 6-3 blend of oils.
