Free Testosterone, Estrogen / DHT Conversion, Etc.
Free (usable by the body) testosterone is accomplished by TestronSX through inclusion of the herb Oatstraw (avena sativa) in the herbal mix. Avena sativa in TestronSX is what frees the bound testosterone and makes it usable by the body. Certain herbal supplement companies in an effort to justify the relevance of their male hormone products have added anti-aromatase herbs (aka estrogen blockers) to their natural formulas. They state that these are important to prevent conversion of testosterone to estrogen and DHT, consequently making their product much better than formulas without blockers. The reality is that they have a solution for a problem that does not exist. Estrogen conversion of testosterone is associated with synthetic and precursor (androstenedione) testosterone products. But, estrogen conversion is not relevant for herbs. There is no point to adding natural anti-aromatase herbs to an herbal formulation if there is nothing to block. And, there never has been an issue of estrogen conversion with the Tribulus herb. If a product formula contains a heavy amount of soy; that may cause an aromatase issue. Otherwise, this whole “estrogen conversion of testosterone from herbs” nonsense is exactly that... it is marketing nonsense.
