FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I take Replesta NX [Dietary Supplement]?
Replesta NX is a chewable “once-a-week” orange-flavored Vitamin D3 wafer. It must be chewed, and must not be swallowed whole. It is best taken with the heaviest meal of the day, on approximately the same day every month.
Can I take Replesta NX concurrent with any calcium supplements?
What about Replesta and other Vitamin D products taken concurrently?
There is no problem with calcium supplementation taken concurrently with Replesta NX. If you take a multivitamin that contains Vitamin D with minimal dosage, i.e. about 400 IU or thereabouts, there is no problem. However, added supplementation of 1000-2000 IU per day is not recommended. Also, topical Vitamin D should not be used concurrently with Replesta NX.
I take 2,000 IU every day of Vitamin D3 which gives me 60,000 IU per month. Why would I need to change to 4 doses of 14,000 IU per month?
According to Bolus Dosing Theory, science and studies have shown that in order to effect a change in serum vitamin D levels in the body, a Bolus dose of 14,000 IU weekly is necessary to effect that change.* Taking 1,000 to 2,000 IU a day has a different physiological effect on the body than a Bolus dose; it doesn’t get the body over that hump and is ineffective for normalizing vitamin D deficiency.* While not an absolutely perfect analogy… It’s like adding a half gallon of gas everyday to your car. Sometimes, it just doesn’t get you where you need to go. The car can do many more things on a full tank of gas.
Is Replesta NX a time-release supplement?
No. Replesta NX is absorbed by the body and is stored in the body for use as required. It stays in the blood and in the fat. Theoretically, it stores just like Vitamin D from a summer’s worth of sun which was supposed to provide the body with enough vitamin D to last the winter [but doesn’t anymore]. Again, the summer sun is like a Bolus dose of Vitamin D3. Vitamin D3 stores in the body.
